The name 'Origin' is highly apt. This is the epitome of Leyda Valley Pinot Noir, an extraordinarily fine and commendably honest wine, which makes no pretence at being anything other than it is. Typically Pinot in appearance, it is ripe yet delicate in style, with suggestions of strawberry jam, rose petal, musk and a subtle spiciness. Poised and elegant, with sumptuous, silky, texture, it seems initially a little shy and delicate, yet its intensity and personality build on the palate. This is absolutely, completely and utterly delicious now, and will give gorgeous drinking for several years to come. Not Burgundy, not Central Otago, not Oregon—this is Leyda Pinot Noir, and—rightly—proud of it.
