Teso la Monja, Alabaster, 2021

Teso La Monja Alabaster 2021 is a full-bodied red wine produced from Tinta de Toro (aka Tempranillo) in the Toro region of Spain. Produced from an 11ha vineyard of very old, un-grafted (phylloxera-free) Tinta de Toro vines, with yields as low as 1,000l/ha, this powerful, concentrated red was matured for 18 months in new French oak barrels. A deeply textural wine redolent of plush black fruits and well-integrated oak spice, Alabaster has become one of the true reference wines of Toro and one with great ageing potential. Decanting is recommended.
