In appearance, this resembles Pinot Noir - transparent rosehip red. On the nose, too, it is generous and immediately appealing, with elderberry fruit and delicately complex suggestions of rose petals, leather and tar. In the mouth, it has a graceful, silky texture, with more of a spiced rose hip fruit character. Just a nip of apple-skin tannin at the finish, that will soften over time, however there's nothing to stop immediate enjoyment of this lovely Barolo.
