Hattingley Valley, Classic Reserve Brut, NV

Aged on the lees for four years in the bottle, Hattingly Valley's Classic Reserve layers mellow sophistication upon the inherently vibrant fruit conferred by England's growing conditions. The bubbles form a classically fine 'mousse', and the aromas and flavours evoke bright lemon, hedgerow blossom and baked apple, with toasted brioche and slivered almonds. It has marvellously fine texture and a lovely finish. This is a Champagne-style blend: the largest component being Chardonnay, followed by Pinots Noir and Meunier.
