d'Arenberg, The Lucky Lizard Chardonnay, 2022

The appetisingly tangy Bramley apple aroma with its delicately toasty oak seasoning evokes childhood memories of eating homemade apple pie in my grandparents' kitchen. From vineyards that are cooler than Burgundy comes a wine that is crisp, complex and...well...cool. If you enjoy fine Chablis, you will appreciate this wine's zestiness, brightness of flavours and tension between richness and zingy acidity. Great to drink already, and will grow layers of texture and complexity over the next 4-5 years.
