Chiara Boschis - E. Pira, Barolo Mosconi Organic, 2019

With a deep ruby colour and Nebbiolo's hallmark brick rim, and a nose of ripe, almost roasted, fruit, the 2019 shows off the concentration of this great vintage. It's packed with ripe black cherry, dried cherry, milk chocolate, mushroom, prune and fig, and has powerful, chewy tannins. There is masses of complexity here, but it will be better with at least a couple more years' bottle age. If you're really impatient to try it now, slosh it vigorously into a decanter, and give it an hour to breathe. At its best between 2026 and 2046. The Mosconi cru is a cool site - located at 370 metres elevation in Monteforte d’Alba.
