The utterly succulent and elegant 2020 Barolo Cannubi offers appealingly complex aromas of fresh cherries, roasted chestnuts, seasoned oak and autumnal forest walks. On the palate, the tannins are fabulously silky, and the wine evokes a sense of gentle ripeness, while remaining precise and focused. The flavour concentration is channelled into long, lean persistence instead of obvious richness. Clearly from a warm, ripe year, it remains fresh and beautifully-balanced.
