Chateau Rayas, Chateauneuf-du-Pape Pignan, 2012

Château Rayas is a leading producer in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape region, known for its extraordinary wines. Pignan is a vineyard located adjacent to the famous Rayas vineyard and is also owned by the estate. The 1998 vintage was a strong year in the Southern Rhône, with wines displaying good structure and aging potential. On the nose, it reveals a lovely profile of ripe red and black fruits such as cherries, raspberries, and blackberries, complemented by notes of dried herbs, tobacco, leather, and earthy undertones. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, with a harmonious balance of fruit, acidity and mature tannins.
