Bodegas Alonso, Historic Collection (4 x 37.5cl), NV

A collection of four half-bottles of utterly astonishing wines, aged between 70 and 120 years (yes, that is correct and not a typo). They offer incredibly complex nuances of walnuts, caramel, charcuterie, savoury spices, leather, soy sauce, woodsmoke, seasoned oak and more. The long ageing leads to extraordinary concentration, and flavours that sustain on the palate for minutes. Yes, they are expensive, but they are to be sipped and savoured slowly like a fine whisky - and in the same way, you can keep coming back to an opened bottle. An utterly amazing experience.
