Bemberg, La Linterna Chardonnay, 2016

Bemberg Estate Wines is a relatively new company specialising in micro-cuvees of Chardonnay, Malbec and Pinot Noir from various exceptional sites across Argentina. This Chardonnay comes from the Finca El Tomillo estate, which is located at high elevation in Gualtallary, Mendoza and Parcela #1 comes from a parcel of vines planted in much shallower and chalkier soils. It is native yeast fermented in new French oak, with partial malolactic fermentation and 10 months maturation on fine lees. It bright, energetic and seductive, with vibrant citrus and stone fruit, delicate floral accents and hints of smoky reduction and chalky minerality.
